Mind and Body Issues

Mind and Body Issues are so related, it is often difficult to separate the two. Intervention from a Mental Health perspective can improve a number of chronic conditions and physical illnesses. Diseases which are adversely influenced by high stress levels can be particularly susceptible responsive to such interention. Factors such as chronic anger can cause roadblocks to recovery and complications in certain conditions. There are many tools available to help people adjust to chronic illness and make the most of their lives.

The bodily reaction to stressful situations often contributes to or even causes chronic illness. Learning tools or methods to reduce stress is a major factor in prevention of illness. Relaxation, meditation, imagery and changing patterns of thinking which contribute to chronic stress are all helpful techniques. Helping individuals learn to create a proper balance and maintain it in a variety of situations is a major focus for CWC therapists.
